Winter 2013 Family Update

Phillip Alve Died 20 July 2012

As happens life takes over and good intentions are thwarted. It has been a busy year for me and family matters have been limited to the closest of kin. We've just celebrated grand daughter Olive's 1st birthday (30 June) and now await the birth of grand daughter #3 early August - child of David and Ingrid (nee Sherriff).

Shortly we will remember the first anniversary of Phillip Alve's death - died 20 July 2012.

Mum - Joyce Alve - is preparing to move into Julia Wallace rest home in Palmerston North shortly. 

Uncle Ivan Alve has settled into his unit at the Olive Tree Village in Palmerston North. He has recently completed a tour into South Africa and nearby countries. He has a wonderful selection of wildlife photos as a result.

Talking of Olive Tree retirement Complex one of their older residents is Thelma Avery (nee Pedersen). Thelma will celebrate her 100th birthday on 20 January next.

We'd be interested in hearing news of others of Ivan and Thelma's generation of Alve descendants: Alve Purdom, Hilton Alve and William Alve. And if there is other significant  family news we will be pleased to add that with your permission.

Peter Alve spent time earlier this year in Wellington Hospital where he received a kidney transplant. He has progressed well since then and has returned part-time to his work at the Summerset Rest Home in Palmerston North.
